It can support up to 32 400GE ports or 128 100GE ports, with extremely high port density and powerful forwarding capabilities, which can meet the networking needs of high-density servers in high-end data centers without convergence access.
Enhanced SDN capabilities
The H3C S9820 switch adopts a new generation switching chip architecture, with IFP supporting Openflow flow tables for greater flexibility and richer resources. It can also support precise matching of ACLs to meet the needs of large flow tables in data center SDN networks.
The H3C S9820 switch supports the standard Openflow protocol and can be integrated and managed by H3C VCFC, as well as mainstream cloud platforms and third-party controllers in the industry, supporting flexible customization and automated management of networks by businesses; Users or third-party developers can use standard interfaces to develop and deploy dedicated network management strategies, thereby achieving rapid business deployment, functional expansion, and intelligent device management.
Rich data center features
The H3C S9820 switch supports a wide range of data center features, including 802.3ad dynamic link aggregation, static port aggregation, and cross device link aggregation. It also supports RoCE PFC, ETS, DCBX, ECN, and other data center packet free features, meeting the low latency and packet loss requirements of AI high-performance computing and GPU heterogeneous services. Additionally, it supports building K8S (Kubernetes) container cluster services.
Highly available M-LAG architecture
The S9820 series switches support M-LAG (Multicasting Link Aggregation Group) cross device link aggregation technology (formerly DRNI technology), which achieves cross device link aggregation by virtualizing two physical devices as one device at the forwarding layer, maintaining control layer independence from each other, thereby improving single board level reliability to device level reliability.
M-LAG decouples the control plane from the data plane, and each node device can be independently upgraded to ensure zero interruption of user business.
The dual active access of the device provides device level redundancy protection and traffic load sharing, while improving system reliability.
Suitable for overlay and traditional underlay scenarios, with flexible networking.
Powerful visualization capabilities
The H3C S9820 switch supports powerful visualization capabilities, including ERSPAN, INT, gRPC, MOD, and other visualization features. It can provide real-time system information, cache information, congestion status, message forwarding paths, packet loss information, forwarding latency (single unit latency S9820-64H ≤ 0.8us), and other real-time data to the control console, thereby achieving visualization of the switch. Combined with AI technology, it can achieve intelligent operation and maintenance of data center networks.
Multiple reliability protection
The S9820 switch has multiple reliability protections at the device level and link level. Adopting overcurrent protection, overvoltage protection, and overheating protection technologies, supporting pluggable redundant power modules, the device can flexibly configure AC or DC power modules according to actual environmental needs. In addition, the whole machine also supports fault detection and alarm of power and fan, supports automatic protection function for unplugged fan to avoid chip damage, and can automatically adjust the fan speed according to temperature changes. These designs make the device highly reliable.
In addition to device level reliability, it also supports rich link level reliability technologies, such as H3C Communications' unique RRPP fast ring network protection mechanism, VRRPE, and Smart link. When carrying multiple services and large traffic on the network, it does not affect the convergence time of the network, ensuring the normal operation of services.
Rich QoS strategies
The H3C S9820 switch supports L2 (Layer 2) to L4 (Layer 4) packet filtering function, providing flow classification based on source MAC address, destination MAC address, source IP address, destination IP address, TCP/UDP port number, protocol type, and VLAN. Each 100G port supports multiple unicast and multicast queues, providing flexible queue scheduling algorithms that can be set based on both ports and queues. It supports five modes: SP (Strict Priority), WRR (Weighted Round Robin), SP+WRR, WFQ, and SP+WFQ. Support CAR (Committed Access Rate) function, with a minimum granularity of 1Kbps/8Kbps. Support port mirroring in both outbound and inbound directions, used to monitor messages on specified ports, copy data packets on ports to monitoring ports for network detection and troubleshooting.
Excellent management skills
• Supports a variety of management interfaces, such as Console, Mini USB port, USB port, and two out of band optical management ports.
• Supports SNMP v1/v2/v3 (Simple Network Management Protocol), which can support industry standard network management platforms and iMC intelligent management centers. Support CLI command line, TELNET、FTP, And it supports encryption methods such as SSH 2.0 and SSL, making management more secure.
Supports the standard Netconf interface, providing a programmable method for configuring and managing network devices. It makes it very convenient for the development of third-party software, meeting users' needs for openness and flexibility in devices.
Support sFlow function, which can perform fine statistics on messages, support SPAN/RSPAN/ERSPAN mirrors and multiple mirror observation ports, analyze network traffic to take corresponding management and maintenance measures, making previously invisible network business application traffic clear at a glance. It can provide users with various network flow analysis reports to help optimize network structure and adjust resource deployment in a timely manner.
• Support real-time monitoring of Buffer and port queues, providing the possibility for dynamic adjustment of network operation and maintenance visualization.
Supports PTP (Precision Time Protocol) to achieve global high-precision clock synchronization.
Flexible selection of air duct direction
In order to better match the air duct design of data centers, the H3C S9820 switch provides users with more flexible air duct solutions. While implementing front and rear air ducts, users can also choose different fan frames to achieve different wind directions (from front to back or from back to front).
A comprehensive security control strategy
H3C S9820 switch supports AAA and Radius authentication; Support user accounts IP、MAC、VLAN、 Dynamic or static binding of user identification elements such as ports; Support real-time management of online users in collaboration with H3C's iMC platform, enabling timely diagnosis and dismantling of illegal online activities.
The H3C S9820 switch provides enhanced ACL control logic, supports large capacity inbound and outbound port ACLs, and supports VLAN based ACL issuance, simplifying the user configuration process while avoiding wastage of ACL resources. In addition, the S9820 switch will also support unicast reverse path lookup technology (uRPF) *. The principle is that when a data packet is received on one interface of the device, it will reverse search the path to verify whether there is a route from the receiving interface to the specified source address in the packet, which verifies its authenticity. If it does not exist, the data packet will be deleted, so that we can effectively prevent the increasingly rampant source address spoofing in the network.
